About me

My name is Samantha McGillivray and I am the Speech and Language Therapist for Speech4All in the Central Auckland Area.

I specialise in working with children, adolescents and adults with speech and/or language delays and disorders.

I have significant experience working with children with special needs and complex communication difficulties.

I am trained and experienced in using alternative communication systems Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Makaton Sign, Pragmatic Organization Dynamic Display System (PODD) and Intensive Interaction.

With my CAT L1 accreditation I can apply to the Ministry of Health for funding for communication systems.

Certified Trainer for the "More Than Words" Workshop - The Hanen Program for Parents of Children on the Autism Spectrum.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science with First Class Honours in Speech Language Sciences
  • Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy (BSLT) from Massey University.
  • Communication Assisted Technology Level One Accredited (CAT L1) for applying for Augmentative and Alternative Communication supports (E.g., switches, Go Talk’s, iPad’s with communication applications etc.).
